Author: Filippo Catanzaro

He comes to this land from far away to command
How many things still have to be fixed
Run, you are the chief of the tribe
Only in this way can something change.

Look, you must put this fire out
If with the jaguar the city you want to save
Run, you are the chief of the tribe
Yes, something can still be done.

Now, don't stop, go higher and higher
Together with us that now
We are at the last breath
You will have to course-correct
Now, don't stop, go higher and higher
Together with us that now
We are still breathing in this city.

A strong wind blows but you don't have to stop
Fly over this jaguar, don't stare
Run, you are the chief of the tribe
Only in this way something can change.

In this jungle, you can now shoot some arrows
If your thinking is still to fight
Run, you are the chief of the tribe
Yes, something can still be done.

Now, don't stop, go higher and higher
Together with us that now
We are at the last breath
You will have to course-correct
Now, don't stop, go higher and higher
Together with us that now
We are still breathing in this city.
Now, don't stop, go higher and higher
Together with us that now
We are at the last breath
You will have to course-correct
Now, don't stop, go higher and higher
Together with us that now
We are still breathing in this city.

Allegory

ALL'ULTIMO RESPIRO

Author: Filippo Catanzaro

Sciacca like the Amazon: everything is on fire!

To avoid the catastrophe and the extinction of this great asset, the navel of the world, the supreme chief of the local tribes who for the first time is a woman[1], comes into action armed with a bow, arrows and prickly pear.

Her faithful jaguar Sin Karak...Appà[1] escorts her, the great warrior of Bata Ranni[2].

On his way, always looking for new routes and new landings, the great Spanish explorer Pasticcion[1]

In the meantime, Father Salvador de Bahia[1] silently wanders in the forest, he is a missionary who first "blows" on the fire and then "repents"! The people loudly shout "Just love it" but .. who will save her?

Taking advantage of the parallelism between Sciacca and the Amazon, the theme of the allegorical float "To the last breath" speaks of the situation that the city of Sciacca is going through from a socio-political perspective.

Within the current historical context, we talk about the various problems that have afflicted the Sicilian town for years, through the leading political figures of the various parties that today represent the citizens of Sciacca.

[1] They are all local politicians who are depicted in papier-mâché in the float

[2] iI's the name of the cinema owned by one of the politicians
